Backoffice

At a back-office facility, or control centre, data is received from multiple probes.  The received data can include logs of detection events and the type of interferer identified by the probe, as well as samples of digital data which can be analysed further to characterise jammer signals with a greater fidelity.
Data from EGNOS reference stations (RIMS) relayed through EDAS (EGNOS Data Access System) is used to monitor GNSS performance on a wider scale and in particular to detect ionospheric disturbances which would degrade GNSS services over wide areas.  This data is used to ensure that the system does not falsely identify jammers when in fact the interference source is a natural one.

Using data from multiple probes allows a more comprehensive picture of interference to be built up.  The back-office facilities will support trend analysis and will store the signal characteristics (or signature) of all detected jammers.
