ETRI, founded in 1976, a global IT research institute, has been making its immense effort to provide Korea a remarkable growth in the field of IT industry. In the 1980's, development of TDX (fully digital electronic switching system), 4M DRAM, commercializing CDMA for the first time in the world, Terrestrial DMB, WiBro, and 4G LTE.
ETRI has been engaged in the research areas of GNSS ground infrastructure like GPS & Galileo Signal Monitoring Station, Uplink Station, Search and Rescue Beacon for one of Galileo Service, SW based GPS/Galileo signal testbed, and GNSS Interference Detection Localization & Mitigation since EU-Korea Galileo Agreement signed in 2006.
